Home Sick

I hate missing church, especially over a dumb cold. I probably would have gone though if I didn't have stomach issues this morning. I had nursery duty though so it's probably best I didn't go with my dripping nose.

So, what did I do instead. Well, first I love Fox News Sunday so I watched that. Then Elijah and I watched a bunch of videos. He is obsessed with Larry Boy right now which is really fun because Larry Boy teaches good manners like controlling your anger, not fibbing, and not telling rumors.

That's not all I did though. While I was plopped on the couch reading one of my favorite blogs I took some pictures of my favorite dog ... Daisy.

I know. Try to control your excitement. Here is your chance to share in the moment.

First, this dog has the life. I'm the sick one, wanting to sleep, but if I did my favorite 3 year old boy would not have left me alone so it would not have been good sleep. So, while he and I shared the love seat, Daisy gets this ...

Tell me she is not spoiled, especially when Dan is not around :)

Next to me was this little cutie pie ...

Our basement is pretty dark, especially with one of the bulbs burned out so the flash was too bright for him. Oh, and see Larry Boy? He is with us pretty much wherever we go these days.
When my eyes were about to close from being so tired I finally made Daisy move. She was being so cute next to me on the couch though. I had to take pictures. It was almost as if she was posing for me.

Isn't she pretty? There are more pictures (believe me ;), but I will just post this one. And, every time I said her name or talked to her she would wag her tail. She scooted closer to me. She's so cute ...

So, after about a million attempts to get her tail wagging in a picture I finally got enough sense to take a video of her. And, well, this is what happened ... (notice her eyes. she always cracks us up when she only moves her eyes to look at us :)

Field Journal

And now I have figured out how to upload VIDEOS!!! YIPPEE!!!

Okay, notice how absolutely beautiful the sky is in these videos. And, keep in mind my chin was absolutely frozen in the second video. I sound a little funny.

Oh, and I might be exaggerating about the temperature that day, or I might not be. All you need to know is it was FREEZING.

The Wait is Over

Aren't you happy? More pics of me and Daisy in the field ...

Okay, this is the part where we start to be back near the neighborhood so I need her to get back on the leash. As scared as my dog is of most little things, moving vehicles do not phase her in the least. She is clueless when it comes to cars, trucks, vans, tractor trailors, you name it. So, it is absolutely necessary to leash her when we are in the neighborhood.

Can you see her running towards me?

How 'bout now?

You must be able to now ... I love these parts ... she's so happy to come to me.
She's had a great time and is just happy to be alive and with her favorite person ... me.

"Aw, good girl Daisy! Good gi ... Ew, what is that? Daisy? Daisy, what is that??"

Poop. Go figure. Seems we can't end these wonderful days without a bath.

Heading home. Home to the tub.
But, overall, Daisy is one happy little pup.

Get Ready ...

Because these pics are exciting!
Remember when I blogged about me and Daisy going on hikes? That was here. Well, I finally found out where the pics and video ended up ... on my computer. Imagine that! Okay, in my defense, Dan uploaded them to a different hard drive because this one is out of space.
Okay, so get ready ... here goes me trying to remember everything about that day ...
The Field

Daisy in part of the field ...

(I warned you about the excitement factor)

Happy Daisy running free ...
(ew, is that trash there? why didn't I pick that up?)

More happy Daisy ...

Oh, I see. These pictures posted out of order. This is Daisy getting ready to leave.

To Be Continued ...
(Sorry, but I can only upload so many pics at a time! I know you are hanging onto the edge of your seats! Just be patient ...)

Dogs and Poop

What is with dogs and poop?

Daisy feasts on cat poop any time she can. It's so gross. Thankfully we are able to close the door to where the litter box is so it's not often she's able to eat it.

Daisy and I try to go to the corn fields whenever we can. It's great fun, and good exercise. Plus, I feel empowered from it because it is heckin' cold out there, but I'm no wuss! My thighs are frozen by the time I get home, but it's well worth it.

Right at the end of our walk in the fields is a different section of field where Daisy likes to go and now I will call it the Poop Field because this time and the last time we went there Daisy emerges from the area with poop all over her neck. I'm guessing it's deer poop. Nice huh?

It's right at the end of our walk!! Argh. It's okay though. I come home wash her up (which she hates me for) and then she relaxes the rest of the day.

I don't know what's more of a workout though, the walk or washing Daisy. If only I could spend the rest of the day on my bed like Daisy does.

Oh, and I have pictures from our last hike. It was fun, but I can't figure out how to upload them. They are on a different type of card. I keep forgetting to ask Dan at a time when he could help me. I even did a ''field journal" video because I am easily entertained while walking in a cold field. I wanted to get Daisy on video just tearing through the fields like she does. Of course, every time I tried I couldn't get it just right and then ran out of video. Hopefully I'll get all that stuff uploaded soon though. She's so cute!

Daisy Buries Her Treats ...

...in the house.

It is difficult, but she manages to find ways.
I have found bones under the bed, in corners, and now this ...

Notice the claw marks as if she was really burying her bone.

What is the bone buried under you ask ...

Why it's the arm of our desk chair of course! It seems to fall off at times, especially when the kids play on the computer. The screw gets loose and next thing we find it on the floor.
Apparantly it made the perfect hiding tool for Daisy.

But, how could you ever get upset with this sweet face?
